DepollSoft, operated by David Poll in the United States, develops Pitch Perfect and Tag Master and runs apps.depoll.com. This policy explains the information used to provide these apps and this website, the services that process it, and your choices. You can contact us at support@davidpoll.com.

Your privacy choices in the apps

Pitch Perfect and Tag Master introduce separate controls for usage analytics and crash reports in these releases:

App iOS Android
Pitch Perfect 3.0.1 5.0.1
Tag Master 3.0.1 6.0.1

In these versions and later, both choices are off until you enable them. You can decline both and continue using the app. Dismissing the initial choice screen leaves both off. Your saved choices apply to that installation and can be changed in Settings > Privacy choices.

Earlier versions do not have these separate controls and may collect usage analytics and crash reports automatically. Update to a version with Privacy choices to use the controls described here.

These switches control optional analytics and crash reporting. Account sign-in, cloud synchronization, content downloads, purchases, and Pitch Perfect advertising involve the separate processing described below.

Optional usage analytics

If you enable usage analytics, Google Analytics processes information such as screens visited, sessions, app interactions, installation identifiers, app version, operating system, device information, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Purchase events may also be recorded. We use this information to understand which features people use and improve the apps.

On Android, enabling usage analytics also allows the app to send app-open events to DepollSoft’s analytics service. These include the app identifier and version, event time and time zone, device model, and Android version. Our server uses the request’s IP address to derive approximate location, such as country, region, and city, and stores the event using Google Cloud services, including Pub/Sub and BigQuery. This location comes from the network address, not your device’s GPS.

Declining analytics disables Google Analytics collection and resets its local analytics data. It also disables the optional DepollSoft app-open events on Android. It does not delete information already received by these services.

Optional crash reports

If you enable crash reporting, Google Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports, stack traces, installation identifiers, and app and device information. We use these reports to diagnose failures and fix problems. When analytics is also enabled, recent app activity may appear in crash reports to help explain what happened before a crash.

Declining crash reporting disables automatic report collection and requests deletion of unsent reports. Turning it off takes full effect the next time you start the app. It does not delete reports already received by Crashlytics.

Google describes the information these services handle in its Analytics privacy information and Firebase privacy information.

Accounts and synchronized content

If you choose to sign in, we use Firebase Authentication and the sign-in provider you select to authenticate you. Depending on the method, the account information can include your email address, display name, provider profile information, and account identifiers. Authentication services also process technical information, including IP addresses, to operate and protect sign-in.

We store content associated with your account to synchronize it across devices. This includes saved songs and their settings in Pitch Perfect, and favorite and teachable tag lists in Tag Master. These services use Google Firebase storage and account services. Account and synchronization features require this information even if optional analytics and crash reporting are off.

If you contact support, we receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you send. We use them to respond and investigate the issue.

Pitch Perfect advertising and purchases

Pitch Perfect uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob and its advertising partners may process IP addresses and approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions, app interactions, and diagnostics to deliver and measure ads and detect fraud. The processing depends on your device permissions, region, and advertising privacy choices. See Google’s advertising privacy information.

Pitch Perfect uses Google’s consent-management service to present required regional advertising messages. When available, open Settings > Privacy choices > Ad privacy choices to review or change those choices. On iOS, Apple’s tracking permission is a separate system choice that you can manage in device Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Enabling optional analytics or crash reporting does not grant advertising consent or Apple’s tracking permission. Declining optional analytics does not by itself disable advertising processing. The apps configure Firebase’s advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization consent as denied. AdMob’s advertising choices are handled separately.

If you purchase ad removal, Apple or Google processes the payment. The app receives purchase information needed to provide or restore the purchase. We do not receive your full payment-card details from the app stores. Donations through the website are processed by PayPal, which may provide us with donor and transaction details. These providers have their own privacy policies.

Website visits and third-party content

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Hosting providers can receive request information such as your IP address, browser information, and the pages requested to serve the website and maintain security. The site does not include Google Analytics or AdSense scripts. This is separate from the Analytics and AdMob services used in the apps.

The donation page loads a PayPal image and submits donations to PayPal. External resources can send request information to their providers. Your browser’s cookie controls apply to websites you visit; they do not change the apps’ Privacy choices.

Tag Master obtains tag information and related media from BarbershopTags.com and other content providers. Downloading sheet music or recordings, loading thumbnails, or opening videos and external links sends requests to the relevant provider. Providers can receive technical request information, including IP addresses, and their own privacy policies apply. Optional telemetry controls do not prevent requests needed to load content you choose to access.

Service providers and international processing

We use Google Firebase, Google Analytics, and Google Cloud to provide the account, storage, analytics, and diagnostic services described above. Pitch Perfect also uses Google AdMob and its advertising partners. Apple, Google, sign-in providers, GitHub, PayPal, and content providers process information for the services you use.

Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where these providers operate. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to investigate abuse, protect users, or defend legal rights.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and synchronized content to provide your account and restore your saved content across devices, until you delete it or request deletion, subject to any information needed to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle your request and related follow-up.

Analytics and diagnostic retention depends on the service, its retention settings, and whether records have been exported to our systems. We use usage records to compare app use over time and crash records to investigate problems across app versions. Retention decisions take these purposes into account, along with security needs and legal requirements. Aggregate statistics that no longer identify an account or installation may be retained separately.

To request deletion of your account or other personal data, email support@davidpoll.com with the app name and the email address or sign-in method associated with your account. Do not send your password. We may ask for information needed to verify that the account belongs to you and locate the relevant records. You can request deletion of particular data without requesting deletion of your whole account.

We will handle deletion requests for information we control and arrange deletion through our service providers where applicable. Some information may remain for legal or security reasons or until backup systems complete their deletion cycles. We may be unable to match an account request to analytics or crash records identified only by an installation identifier. Turning off collection, signing out, or uninstalling an app does not by itself delete information already stored on servers. Requests about information a third party controls independently should be directed to that provider.

Your rights and children’s privacy

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal data, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent. Contact support@davidpoll.com to make a request. You can withdraw optional analytics and crash-reporting consent using Privacy choices. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

The apps and website are not specifically marketed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
